New cameras, not so exciting anymore!

Yesterday I was watching on YouTube, a couple of videos about the new Nikon cameras that just came out, now we are past dslr cameras, we are in Mirrorless territory.Both cameras are very nice, have a lot of upgrades from past generation and have a very nice image quality and look fantastic. A few years back I might be all over the place talking about these cameras, but today I'm completely indifferent. This is not a rant about new cameras or about camera reviews or about not being excited anymore with new announcements. Instead, it's a testament of how I defeated GAS and now I have all the equipment I need, and hence I don't feel so excited anymore about new equipment. Don't get me wrong, I like the new cameras that are coming out, specially Nikon cameras, even though I use Canon.But today, I don't feel anything about the new comers or about getting a better camera. My main concern is being able to take pictures, that's more important than anything else, to be…

Going back to basics!

I used to have another blog, it was named Orthusphoto, where I also wrote about photography. But, I needed something new, a fresh start. So I decided to make this new blog to start all over again, new posts, new pictures.Today's post is about going back to basics. I have a dslr, a semi pro dslr, with some lenses and some flashes, but that's not what I need to go out on a walk and take some pictures, it's pretty cumbersome to use in a simple walk around a park or something like that.I had no other camera at hand, but one day I got an email with an offer. A canon point and shoot camera for only two thousand pesos. Obviously the camera was refurbished, but that for me, means that it got everything fixed.So I bought it, and it's tiny, has good enough quality for pictures and good enough quality for video.
